I really like the deluxe pocket sized notebooks from chicsparrow. I already had a Maverick, but the Mr Darcy was oh so tempting! I got one in buttered rum, and it is gorgeous! The leather is sooo smooth, and while it is quite firm, I guess it might soften up a bit over time. No, I´m not going to brek it in, I´m afraid it might put strain on the stitching. It has a very nice feel to it, and I´m very happy with the colour I chose, I was very quick to move into it, and am loving it so far ❤
I bought this one from a fellow Norwegian. When I bought it, she only made them in red or black, but she now offers more colour options, I believe. The firmness is very similar to the original Midori, and the colour is a very nice shade of red. I´m planning on using this one for christmas shopping lists and wishlists from my kids. Much easier to bring along for christmas shopping than my personal Malden.
I like trying out new notebooks, and I really liked the colours on this one. It reminds me of summer and the sea (which is why I chose the octopus embossing.) I haven´t moved into it yet, but I thiiiink I know what I´m going to use it for.
Okay, THAT might be a stretch….but perhaps a tiiiiny bit more enjoyable? I don´t like to exercise, but realised my health will benefit from it in the long run, so I decided to use my gold planner (it´s more a rose gold) from kikosattic to track the tortu…..eehhhh…»exercise». I ride my bike a lot (I try not to use my car unless it´s raining really bad), but decided I need to lift some weights, too. So, I use my monthly inserts (from Kikki K) to track which days I exersise. So far, it works for me. I might change the system next year, but I haven´t decided yet.
I love my little star ferry ❤ A lot of people think the passport size is too small to be practical, but I love using it. I think it might depend on the size of your handwriting (among other factors)?
I have 3 inserts in mine, and there is a bit of overhang, but not enough to bother me. If I had used inserts with less pages, it would be less overhang, but this works for me.
I´m very interested in the cultural heritage of our ancestors, including their belief system before christianity was introduced, the legal system before and after the religious shift (did you now Norway was the second country to have a codified legal system (Magnus Lagabøtes landslov/1274) second only to Castilla?), the runic alphabet (used well into the Middles Ages) and the history of the Nordic countries from 700-1400. This little book is for quick references, while I use an A5 sized notebook for study notes.
So here it is:
I have wanted a Compagna in brown croco mat for a while, and when this one was for sale on the marketplace, I decided to take the plunge. I use pocket Mia Caras (and a Bethge) as wallets, but although I love the chunkiness, there are times when it´s more convenient to carry a smaller wallet. Sooooo, perhaps the pocket Compagna will be perfect for those days? Time will tell, but for now, here it is:
I have ordered from Ray Blake previously, a FN Camel and one in regular size. Loved them both, and when I recently found out I will need a new notebook for our next vacation, I decided to order from him again. At 29 GBP (including shipping), the price is good and the quality even better. It arrived in a little more than a week (which is impressive, considering we´re in different countries), and it was as awesome as my other two. It is a bit floppier than the original Midori, but sooo lovely to touch and…..ahem….sniff (and I´m soo glad I´m no the only one doing this. I have been known to go to saddle shops just to smell that lovely leather scent…. yes, my husband think I´m nuts).
And here it is…my lovely Raydori ❤
